We know pair programming can be a necessity in classrooms where you are not 1-to-1 for devices, but did you know there are actual benefits for your students?
This article describes some of the reasons why you should incorporate the practice of pair programming into your classroom.
The success of pair programming depends on successful management of pairs. Some suggestions for implementation are:
Do not pair very weak students with very strong students, rather try and pair students with similar ability levels.
Have students take turns driving the mouse, and change roles often.
Stress that the pairing is not for a "divide-and-conquer" but rather a collaboration.
